CASMI Programs and Needs


PAKISTAN

A young Pakistani evangelist contacted us early in 2006 asking for us to pray about helping their church begin a sewing program for abused women and girls. After much prayer and learning more about a US ministry, Strategic World Impact (SWI), that has served this area for Pakistanmany years, we began working to put a ministry plan into place. In partnership with SWI we funded the start up of this program. Below is a message from SWI regarding our partnership.

"As of October 29th CASMI’s start up investment has paid for: Rent payments, painting (they call it white washing), purchasing machines (8) and supplies such as scissors (10) and measuring tapes, purchasing carpets, a water cooler, glasses to drink from, ceiling fans, lights, paying electric bills, and paying the salaries for the Bible teacher and for the sewing teacher."

Pakistani Church Ministry Plan

Vision of the Institute is:

  • To train up people with vocational as well the Biblical knowledge.
  • To mobilize native Christians with their own effort to reach their nation.
  • To enable poor Christians to provide the basic need of their families
  • To provide skillful and economically strong believers to the Churches of Pakistan.

Mission of the Institute is

  • Train ladies with sewing skills and the knowledge of the Word of God making them workers of the Gospel and women ministers of the Churches of Pakistan.

Target Groups:

Our outreach is to the women of the Pakistani Churches. Their husbands have left them because of their faith in Jesus or their husbands had died. Some of the women and their families are working as laborers making bricks in factories and facing violence every day at the work place. Other women are the poor and needy women of slum areas. They are working as sweepers in the houses of the rich Muslims 12 hours per day, earning only $1 per day.

In October 2007. Many accepted Christ and were baptized and are now involved in the outreach
through the sewing ministry.

Program Offered:

The course is a one year residential program. During the year the women will learn to make various types of Pakistani and Indian dresses. They also have time to equip themselves in the Word of God. After successful completion of the course they receive a certificate of completion. The program serves 10 ladies from helpless backgrounds. We pray they will have a profession when finished.
