CASMI has been working with Orphanage #7 for 5 years. We have established close relationships with the staff and children. This orphanage is home to an average of 75 children, many of whom are handicapped and sibling groups. Sewing, art, music and loving-kindness are prominent in this home. Galina, the sewing teacher, is a talented artist who loves the children as if they were her grandchildren. When you spend time with her it is obvious that she is giving these children more than alife skill. The director and the teachers also reflect a deep level of care for these children. We ask you to partner with CASMI in prayer and financial support, helping us support and encourage these women as they are the nurturing hands that God uses to shape the lives of the children.
Quilters provided new quilts for all of the beds
in 2007! Thank you to the many quilters
that blessed these children.

Even the boys love to sew in this home. Handicapped children are a big part of the sewing program as well. They are sewing with a CASMI volunteer and very excited to be making new pajama pants!

Galina receives the first machine from CASMI in 2004. Her response was “This is a miracle”. She has developed a successful sewing program with the children, but cannot do more until she has a larger sewing room. The current sewing room is only about 6x10’. CASMI is raising the funds to help redo a new sewing room within the orphanage. Please partner with us in the sewing room project! |
