The Master’s Seminars have become a time when CASMI brings women of faith from Russia and America together for fellowship, food, crafts and sewing workshops, teaching and prayer. It is a time to encourage one another, make new friends and learn something new. This event grew out of the hearts of women from both cultures as a way to learn more about each other and to pray and encourage each other as women of faith.
Quilting, scrapbooking and card making, music and testimonies of our lives are just some of the highlights of the day. For the Russian women it is a very big treat to have a day away from responsibilities to enjoy other women.
Women in all cultures enjoy relationships with one another. As two cultures “Come and Sew” together and the day unfolds, we see that we are truly one in Christ!

The seminar is hosted at our Russian directors church. Their facilities provided ample room for the various projects plus a large kitchen and dining area. During the day we shared testimonies of how God has impacted our lives and shared worship and praise time with the Russian ladies. Two local Russian praise bands performed for all to enjoy.

The two quilting projects were enjoyed by all. A quilted Bible cover and a Christmas place-mat were something new and exciting for them to learn. CASMI brought quilting kits ready to sew.

The first seminar was in a small flat in 2006 and 18 women came. They talked about it for months afterward so we decided to see if others would attend if we hosted it in a church. In 2007 over 80 women came from 14 different churches. Above is Igor, an orphan from #7, who attended with his sewing teacher. He enjoyed the day with lots of moms and grandmoms! God has started a special work - pray with us as it grows.
