Ongoing Outreach to Orphans
Church and ministry volunteers work alongside Yan and Nadya in our outreach to orphans. Pray that God will continue to call more faithful and Godly servants to help.
Bible Study
Bible study is done with orphans each week. Yan is gifted in working with kids and teens. He uses music, media of all kinds, science, games and more to bring a creative gospel message each week. Caregivers in the orphanage comment on how faithful Yan is to love and reach out to many ungrateful and difficult teens.
Building Trust
Building trust with the orphans is accomplished in many ways. Yan uses soccer, other sports, being a barber to the orphans, and more to build long-term relationships. Visits to local restaurants, McDonalds or an evening in their home are especially meaningful to the kids. While away from the orphanage the kids open up and share more openly, giving Yan and Nadya opportunity to respond with Biblical insights and answers.
Celebrating
Celebrating special events, such as birthdays and holidays occur each month. Growing up in an institution these children have no one to acknowledges them or encourage them when they get a good grade, need to cry or express normal frustrations. No one plans birthday parties for them or gives them a gift, so this outreach is effective in building trusted relationships and a special way to love these kids.
