The Master's Seminar

The Master's Seminars have become a time when CASMI brings women of faith from Russia and America together for fellowship, food, sewing workshops, teaching and prayer.  It is a time to encourage one another, make new friends and learn something new.  The first seminar was in a small flat in 2006 and 18 women came.  In 2007 we hosted over 80 women.  Learn more about how you can bless these women through this program.

Lupohinka Orphanage

A pastor's heart to help children, a sewing  machine...and prayer started this work and CASMI's work in Russia.  Our relationship with Lupohinka Orphanage began at the request of Josh McDowell Ministries to evaluate the possibility of an evangelistic sewing program in 2001.  Lupohinka orphanage is home to 75-90 children.

Rodnichock Day Care

In 2005, CASMI learned of this day care center for children in St. Petersburg Russia. They wanted to start a sewing and crafts program and were in need of machines and other supplies. Rauza, the director, is a Methodist pastor of Spring Church. She founded this day care outreach where street children come everyday after school to be fed with God’s love and a warm meal. The loving, Christian staff sew, do crafts, homework and much more.

Nikol'skoe Orphanage

CASMI was asked in 2005 to reach out to the children of this orphanage.  The director, Yuri Aleksandrovich, grew up in this orphanage.  He left in 1980 and came back as the director in 2002.  He has an understanding of what the children need to be prepared for life when they graduate.

Inspiration Women's Group

Training and encouraging the women of the church is our mission.  Tis group of women had started doing scrap-booking classes to  to minister to women.  CASMI helped to provide them with equipment and they are now sewing bedding for a local hospital and doing more outreach to other women through sewing.  These are also the ladies that helped us host the first city wide Master's seminar in 2007.

Hospital #15

Women from the Inspiration group have been sewing bedding for the cribs at this location.  The Russian doctor at the hospital was very touched when this gift was presented because it was made for them by women from Russia.  It is not common for the Russian church to be in a position to help the needs of the children.

In 2005 we were contacted about helping re-establish a women's quilting group from a local church in Russia.  These ladies made 28 quilts for the children of Beslan after the school shooting in 2004.  They needed funding to get started again and we were able to help.

Graduated Russian Program

Our first visit was in 2003 and we worked with this orphanage for 3 years.  In 2006 the orphanage decided not to continue offering after school education classes for the students.  We were blessed to serve these children for 3 years and ask you to continue to pray for them.

#60
Graduated Russian Program

CASMI began with this orphanage in 2003 and was able to help provide many new machines and fabrics.  After a team visit to sew with this orphanage in 2005 they went on to win a city wide sewing competition.  And they shared with us that thier success was because of our encouragement.  God has taken our help and multiplied it in ways we could have never imagined.
