Kathie and Steve Arnold met in 1971 as students at the University of South Dakota. Steve grew up in Rapid City and Kathie is from Marion, S.D., a small town near Sioux Falls. They were married in 1972 and had four children (Stephanie, Seth, Sarah and LeAnn.) As newlyweds, Kathie and Steve attended a Campus Crusade for Christ Christmas Conference in Chicago. The conference speaker was Josh McDowell. It was at this conference that the seeds for fulltime mission work were planted – we just didn’t realize it would happen 30 years later!

After graduation Steve began a career in health care administration and Kathie (with degrees in special education and speech pathology) began a career in the home. Steve’s work took them to California and finally to Flower Mound, Texas, in 1989. Steve and Kathie attend church at Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco, TX.

We enjoy many of the same activities such as: reading, hiking, camping, sewing (maybe not Steve), gardening and most of all time playing with family! We are blessed to have four grown children all married and we love spending time with them and our grandchildren.

Kathie volunteers her time to the growth and development of Come and Sew Ministries, and Steve changed from fulltime work to a health care consultant so that he would have time to assist with the development and go on mission trips. God has truly blessed us with this ministry and enriched our lives as we work together to mend the hearts of children around the world!
